Reading Notes: Jamaica Anansi Stories, Part B

I enjoyed reading part B of the collection of stories from the book "Jamaica Anansi Stories" by Martha Warren Beckwith. I thought that is set of stories was easier to read. I thought the stories were very creative. I especially liked the story "The Yam-Hills" because it was unique and well written. One of my favorite parts is how the Monkey just watched Anansi take advantage of multiple animals and then finally stepped in and beat Anansi at his own game. At the end of the story the Monkey says, "You can fool the others, but you cant fool me!" I love how this the last sentence of the story. Having this sentence as the final thing the reader reads creates a powerful message of what comes around goes around. This sentence does a good job concluding the story.
