Week 8 Comments and Feedback

I have received a lot of great feedback from my classmates and professor. I have found that the most helpful feedback I can receive is specific items to fix. I am sometimes blind to my own stories because I have re-read them so many times, that it is nice to have an outside opinion. Luckily the majority of the feedback I have received has been specific things to fix.  I also like when people have questions because it helps me see what the reader is thinking as they read my work. It is easy for me to see what to fix when a question is asked. I edit my story or whatever it may be so that the reader no longer has that question.

I believe that I am leaving quality feedback for my classmates. I tend to first highlight what they did well and then move into general things to fix. I end with narrowing down my feedback to be as specific as possible. It has helped me to see other student's work, for it has sparked some ideas for my own.

I feel like I am just now getting to know the other students based on their blogs. I look forward each week to viewing and commenting on other students blogs. One of my favorite extra credit assignments is "extra commenting" because I get to explore other blogs and get a sense of who my classmates are through their work. There is a lot of talent in this class.

Moving forward, I personally want to add more pictures to my introduction so that the other students get a greater sense of who I am. While I think that I am giving good feedback, I want to focus on explaining the "why" behind my suggestions. I want to gear my focus on explaining in more detail why this feedback will help improve their overall piece.

Feedback Cats (Cheezburger)

I choose this image because I thought it best described the feedback process. If you never try then you will never get better and in order to get better, you have to get feedback or advice. I also like that this image mentions a coach because the best feedback is from those who want to see you succeed.
